We are excited to announce that our Professional Services Team will be running a dedicated Schoolbox Professional Development stream on Day 2 of Meetup.
For the past year, we have been working hard to develop a mix of different training solutions for the Schoolbox community, including the successful launch of our new Intensive Training courses.
The Professional Development stream is intended for eLearning and Teaching teams, with each interactive, hands-on session and face to face workshop designed to give you tips and tricks on ways to optimise use of Schoolbox to achieve your teaching goals.
With positive feedback from the recent User Forums, the team has developed a mix of sessions to solidify fundamental skills.
All participants will receive a certificate on completion which can be used as evidence of professional learning.
Once you have purchased your Meetup 2022 ticket, you will receive an email with a link to register for the individual Professional Development sessions that you wish to attend.
Please be aware that as these sessions do run concurrently, it is important to accurately indicate your preferred sessions to reserve your place.
Numbers in each session are limited, and sessions will only be open to registered participants on the day.
Session 1
Schoolbox 101 Toolkit
In this session, you will have a chance to work with the Schoolbox team to build a page of your choosing.
By the end of this session, you will understand the fundamentals skills required to create and manage pages that are required in your role.
Schoolbox 202
Gain new skills, to make your use of Schoolbox more effective and efficient. See and experience some of the best tools to help Schoolbox support your needs, including the magic of alt sourcing, and using advanced component settings to improve your pages and workflows.
Session 2
Creating Cracking Courses
Work with the team to develop your own Course, and make it work for you and your teaching crew.
By the end of this session, you will have seen examples of some cracking Courses, had the chance to ask the Schoolbox team how you can improve your own course, and then put these recommendations into action!
Using Schoolbox for Assessment – Work Smarter Not Harder
In this session, you will learn some of the Schoolbox Teams favourite shortcuts to work smarter, not harder, in the world of Assessment.
Dive into Assessments in Schoolbox, learning to quickly change dates when pushing out a unit, using Kami to provide the right feedback to your students, and other handy tools that will support you to provide quality feedback in an efficient way.
Session 3
Leveraging projects to Maximise Learning
Work with the Schoolbox Team to understand the intricacies of Projects, and how you can use them to divide your content into manageable, bite-sized pieces for your learners.
You will build a project and ask as many questions as you need to the Schoolbox Team!
The A-Z of Groups
Learn all there is to know about Groups and how to use them!
Develop an understanding of the types of Groups, how to manage Group members and how to use Group functionality to make the most of your Schoolbox experience.
Session 4
Engage, Share and Celebrate Learning
In this session, you will learn how you can use Schoolbox to share learning and celebrate achievements with your students and their families.
You will discover functionality for your younger students, experimenting with logging in via QR codes, sharing Learning Moments & goal setting, and celebrating achievements with the Badges module.
Communication for your Community
Learn the power of Schoolbox as a tool to connect your community and communicate with the right people at the right time.
By the end of this session you will develop the skills needed to manage targeted communication using News, Calendar and Purposeful groups to address the needs of your school community.
