Our sales and marketing team have been busy preparing for our third New Zealand visit. As we finish off the last minute preparations we’re getting excited, for two reasons.
First, our wonderful client Saint Kentigern are hosting a showcase where New Zealand schools can see first hand how Saint Kentigern has enhanced their school using Schoolbox. We have invited a number of guest schools to enjoy an exclusive afternoon tea, hosted in collaboration with Schoolbox.
Our technical director, James leckie will be showcasing version 14 of Schoolbox and Saint Kentigern will demonstrate what they have achieved with Schoolbox.
Secondly, we are supporting the Independent Schools of New Zealand (ISNZ) for the second time and will be exhibiting and running live demonstrations of Schoolbox at their annual conference. This year’s conference is titled ‘The Agents of Change’ and will focus on educational innovation and how this empowers leaders and staff to be agents of change.
“Being innovative is about looking beyond what we currently do well, identifying inspirational ideas of tomorrow and putting them in place”.
The notion of innovation and being an agent of change strikes a chord with Schoolbox as we constantly strive to innovate with Schoolbox LMS. One of our valued customers, Jenny Luca – Director of ICT and eLearning at Toorak College recently published an interesting piece titled How do you become a change agent in your school?. In particular what I like that Jenny presents are the definitions of what it feels like to be a change agent from Dennis Stevenson on the Toolbox for IT blog;
- A change agent lives in the future, not the present.
- A change agent is fueled by passion, and inspires passion in others.
- A change agent has a strong ability to self-motivate.
- A change agent must understand people.
The ISNZ Annual conference presents an invaluable opportunity for us to learn, exchange ideas and engage with some of the world’s leading strategists, thinkers and innovators to provoke and ponder on the changing face of education.
We look forward to the conference providing insight on how successful innovation can take place and the sharing of knowledge, research and expertise to promote innovation in education as a means of sustaining quality, competitiveness and viability.
