Three campuses. Thousands of students, staff and families. Different roles, different needs, and a lot of information moving around every day.
For Wesley College, creating a consistent digital experience across that community meant finding a place where learning, pastoral care, communication and school information could come together.
Today, around 3,500 students, 750 staff and 8,000 parents use Schoolbox across the College.
And perhaps the simplest measure of what that has achieved comes from the people using it:

One place, across three campuses
When Wesley began looking for a new platform, the brief stretched well beyond classroom learning.
The College needed to support teaching and assessment, pastoral care, attendance and sport, while also connecting its wider community through news, communication and access to school information.
That breadth matters in a school of Wesley’s size.
Teachers use Schoolbox for class pages, assessments, lesson plans, resources and file sharing. School policies and campus handbooks live there too. Students, parents and staff are accessing the same environment, even though what they need from it can look very different.

It gives each campus room to operate while creating a common experience across the College.
Giving teachers time back
Consistency has also had a practical impact on workload.
Teachers know how to create and manage their own class and subject pages, giving them a familiar structure for sharing resources, planning lessons and managing assessment.
The College has also changed the way feedback reaches students and families.
Rather than relying so heavily on large reporting moments, teachers can provide feedback regularly throughout the year. For staff, that has helped reduce some of the workload traditionally attached to report writing.
“Writing report comments has always been a very onerous part of a teacher’s world, and so having little bits of feedback throughout the year has certainly freed up a lot of time.”
Students and families get a more continuous picture of progress, while teachers can build feedback into the normal rhythm of learning.
Seeing more of the student
Schoolbox also gives staff a place to understand what is happening beyond academic results.
Within student wellbeing, pastoral information can be recorded and viewed over time. A Head of Middle School can look across a year group, then move into an individual student’s history to see the pastoral reports that have been recorded.
That creates useful context for the people supporting students day to day. The same environment can therefore hold a maths assessment, a learning resource and the pastoral information that helps staff understand the student behind the result.
A shared experience for the whole community
For parents, Schoolbox provides access to the same broader school environment used by students and staff.
Learning, information, policies, handbooks and communication sit together rather than requiring families to understand where different parts of school life live.
For students, even smaller features can help make that environment engaging. Wesley has used badges to recognise the completion of learning modules and the development of IB Approaches to Learning skills, giving students a visible sense of progress and achievement.
Across all of those different uses, the value is the consistency underneath them.
Three campuses can have their own communities and rhythms while still operating within a shared digital experience.
And with students, teachers and families using the same place to engage with school life, Wesley has created something particularly valuable at its scale: a common language across the College.
