We’re happy to announce that the v17.5 release is now GOLD!
Once again, we’d first like to thank our active Schoolbox Help community, as it’s your ideas that continue to shape our future product releases.
This update includes new enhanced abilities to provide feedback to students, as well as plenty of nice-to-have features, which we have previously outlined.

A refresh of the v17.5 features:
Due to the upcoming retirement of the Crocodoc inline annotation system, we’ve worked with Kami to provide new enhanced abilities to give feedback to your students.
Along with the features you’ve come to love, there are some additional new functionalities to get excited about.
This extension to the LTI standard allows you to use the ‘Embed Learning Tool’ component to browse a third party resource and embed it in your Schoolbox instance.
Additional updates include improvements to the ePortfolio blog and Resource Booking features, as well as a new Markbook column freeze, which maintains visibility of all the key information you need.

Additional v17.5 features
Since our beta release, we’ve included some bonus features that you should know about:
- Added a grade scale into the ‘Modify Due Work’ page
- Added the ability to email parents straight from a group
- Added the ability to configure dates on each assessment when pushing items from course to class
- A confidential Pastoral Care content area for private pastoral information
Important things to know
As part of this update and due to the pending retirement of Crocodoc, Schoolbox will begin migrating all documents out of Crocodoc and into our new system, Kami.
As Crocodoc will be shutting down on the 31st of December, it is crucial that all of our schools upgrade to v17.5 before December 15th, so that we can quickly (and painlessly) move you to Kami.
As Schoolbox is committed to continually improve, we have introduced a new opt-in feature to help us collect anonymous data of how you use your instance, day-to-day. This will help our team build our future roadmap, focusing on the features which you use the most, and maximising your investment.
We would like to strongly encourage you to participate and help us build a better product. Don’t worry – your privacy will be completely protected as all data collected is anonymous, and no data will be shared outside of our company.
